Donate any clothes or shoes you no longer wear to charity in one of the depot / clothing banks, or make use of the various recycling points around campus. As well a clearing out your wardrobe, this is great way to learn what is (not) recyclable.

Grow your own

Learn about how you can grow your own fruit and veg on a university allotment, or volunteer with Growhampton as part of the ‘edible campus’ movement. Save money, get active and be healthy!


Learn more about how you can turn your fruit and veg scraps into beautiful compost / soil. Allotmenters and Growhampton will be oh-so happy!

Eat veggie

Reduce your carbon footprint by consuming less meat and trying one of the delicious veggie options in Froebel and Digby Diner, or the Hive Café. 

Walk or cycle to campus

Avoid the busy commute, get healthy and save money. Peddle power! 

Buy second hand

Visit the Thrift Shop at the RSU Reception for some fashionable bargains.


Eat organic

Enjoy delicious and nutritious meals cooked up at the Hive. Less pesticides and chemicals in our food please 


Support students and staff working on challenging environmental / social issues. Like and re-share tweets. Or, get involved in events, societies and workshops where you can.

Positive mental wellbeing

Challenging economic power structures, patriarchy, discrimination is tough, so make sure your treat yourself and take moments to recuperate, relax and honour your uniqueness.

Shop locally

Reduce your food miles and visit the Farmer’s Market on a Thursday in Digby Square. Or, purchase some campus-grown veg and students chutneys / jams from the Hive Café during the week
