Drop off at the RSU (Monday - Friday)

Donate clothes to the British Heart Foundation – if you don’t want it, don’t throw it away!

Throughout this week, the RSU will be collecting clothes donations to donate to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) which will help fund lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases.

 

Monday

  • Volunteering Outreach Stall – Library: 11am – 1pm.

An opportunity to find out about volunteering and ask any questions. You can also inspire someone to volunteer and write what volunteering means to you on canvas. There will be free chocolate!

  • Get Creative and Make Someone Smile – Digby Diner: 1pm – 3pm.                                          

Come along to get involved in micro-volunteering where you can plant flowers, decorate a pot and give it to someone to brighten their day.

 

Tuesday

  • Volunteering Fair 2019Library: 11am - 2pm.                                                             

Come along to our volunteering fair to meet charities, find out about different volunteering opportunities and how to start volunteering. There will be free hot drinks and biscuits!

  • Sponge a Sabb for £1 – Outside the Library: 12pm – 2pm.

Have a chance to throw wet sponges at the Sabbatical and College Officers. All money raised will be donated to charity.

  • Learn to Grow with Growhampton: 2pm

come and learn to grow, be practical and have fun at the same time! A great chance to volunteer with Growhampton, and take part in on-campus volunteering. Meet outside the RSU at 2pm. No experience necessary. The session goes until 4pm and is drop in, drop out, so if you need to leave early or come late it is no problem at all. Free tea/coffee card for volunteers!

 

Wednesday

  • Alzheimer’s Society Volunteering Visit: Join the ‘Singing for the Brain’ session at the Merton Dementia Hub

Get a chance to travel off campus and spend quality time befriending people with Dementia.  Great opportunity for those looking to develop into roles in this area.

  • Volunteer at an English Conversation Class at Roehampton Library: 5pm – 6pm.  

We will be taking a trip down to Roehampton Library at 4:45pm outside the Students Union to go and help adults improve their spoken English in a friendly and supportive environment. Open to all, and a fantastic way to give back to the community. 

 

  • Tea, Cake and Knitting!  - The Base, 4pm – 6pm.          

Do you want to help keep someone warm this winter? If so, come and join us in the Base for knitting squares which will be donated to Algerian Action, a charity which helps fight poverty in Algeria. The squares will be used to make blankets for children and families in need. A great way to volunteer from the comfort of the sofa with of course a cup of tea at hand.

 

Thursday

  • Volunteering Outreach Stall – Whitelands Campus: 11am – 1pm

An opportunity to find out about volunteering and ask any questions.

  • Harvest Morning: 10am - 12pm

This is our existing harvest morning where as a group you can pick and pack fresh salad greens and delicious vegetables to sell at our weekly market day. Meet in front of Lawrence Building/RSU at 10am. This session goes until 12 Noon and is drop in, drop out, so if you need to leave early or come late it is no problem at all. If you are coming later, find us in the polytunnel next to carpark 9 on Froebel. Free tea and coffee card for volunteers!

 

Friday

  • The Digby DigOutside the Base - 3-5pm.                                                                                               

Come and join us pottering outside the Base where you can plant, chat, clean and get involved with the Digby Community. Refreshments and Hot Chocolate available!

  • Volunteer at a Computer Club for Kids in Roehampton Library - 3:45 – 5pm.                    

Good opportunity to get involved in helping a child if you enjoy spending time with children.

 

There is also an opportunity to volunteer on Saturday Morning (11am – 12pm) at the Craft Club in Roehampton library where you can help children enjoy colouring, crafts and games!
