No more BS, just hard work.

Voting for me as your Sport President would mean a change to the way things are done. Instead of being voted in and then doing nothing for 12 months except adding the role to my C.V, I will work hard to improve Sport at Roehampton and improve student’s experience along the way. This means lobbying the university to make a greater investment in sport and to use it as a showcase as to what Roehampton has to offer it’s students.

This year only 10% of students have a sports membership. With students intake at Roehampton falling, sports teams are under pressure to have enough players to fulfil fixtures and be successful. In my role as Sport Presidents I will use the resources of Sports Roehampton and the RSU to drive participation into the sports teams. I will make accessing sport at Roehampton easier by using the Universities resources to promote training and fixtures as well as making sure there are multiple taster sessions throughout the year instead of just at the start and after Christmas. To combat the decrease in the amount of students taking part in sport, better player development pathways need to be put in place so we have students performing at the highest level possible. This player development starts at the grass roots level so I will encourage the different sports teams to deliver social sessions that all students are allowed to attend on a regular basis.

As your Sport President I will make sure sport at Roehampton is inclusive not exclusive, and every student has the chance to benefit from sport and exercise.
