Hi!
I'm Marta Nicoli, 2^nd year film student and candidate for the role of LGBTQ+ Officer.

I have a plan for Roehampton's LGBTQ+ community.

In the past, I've been involved in activities led by my local division of ArciGay, the main national Italian LGBTQ+ rights movement. This led me to understand the importance of strong advocates for LGBTQ+ folks within small communities, starting from small realities such as a University campus.

As LGBTQ+ officer, next year I intend to listen to each and every one of our community members and voice their needs and demands with the RSU and the University board if needed.

What I plan on realizing includes:

• Supporting LGBTQ+ youth through direct links with the Welfare team and Mental Health officer

• Welcoming new members of the community through a dedicated event during Freshers' week, making sure everyone has the support they need

• Fundraising for activist movements like Stonewall
   

• Moar memes for everyone
   

• Organizing a community-led pride
   

• Collaborating with other societies every month to encourage diversity and dialogue on campus - for example, through screenings in collaboration with Film society.
