Vicky Tate- Candidate for Digby Deputy President

Hey Digby!

For those of you don’t know me and for those of you who do, I am Vicky, a second-year dance student, a flat rep in Elm Grove, for one year soon to be two, and a staff member at the Student’s Union bar. Last but not least, I am a happy and committed Digby college student. In my Manifesto I want to focus on the Digby community. On campus, I have

seen first hand what excites students and what puts them off, particularly in relation to events. This has helped me to formulate a focused plan, to bring students together, to be an active part of Digby life. Though I hope to achieve many things if elected here      are my key focuses.

MY MAIN OBJECTIVES

• Creating specific Digby college events - getting the “pride” together for both drinking and non-drinking events, utilising exciting off-campus locations. Bowling nights, Pub Crawls and College fun runs with the chance to take part or spectate will be top of the list!!
• A one-off event named “Dance for Digby”- Organising a performance in the Hirst Building, that would be choreographed and performed by the amazing Digby students. Although Dance is focused around Froebel, I have a focus to promote it to all of Roehampton’s students. The event will raise money for charity, promote good wellbeing and fitness, as well as providing a fun and enjoyable gathering for all.
• Keep the campus vibrant, by creating a social space within the college where on-campus students can meet each other, or simply chill-out, 24/7. Meeting friends and those with shared study topics in a communal space, is a great way to wind down.
• A strong push for all students to participate in College cup events to ensure that we achieve the best possible results.
• To make all Digby events exciting by creating rewards schemes and prizes, encouraging students to put in that extra effort and generate a desire to attend all events. For example; best dressed prizes at the dinners.
