SAMUEL ADEYENI

Dream big, Act bigger.

Hey! Most of you know me as Sam, the social butterfly of Southlands; for those of you that don’t know me, I’m Samuel Adeyeni and I’ll be running to become your college president for next year.

My background

This time last year, I had no idea where I wanted to be in a few months, just knowing that I wanted to go to university, get a degree and then move on with life. I’d actually found out about Roehampton through a friend, and upon coming to the open days it’s safe to say that I knew where I was going to start calling ‘home’.  Choosing Roehampton – choosing Southlands has, without a doubt, become one of the best decisions that I have made.

The college has helped me to begin to realise my potential, through the lectures, staff, flat reps and all other students, and I feel like it’s only right that I return the favour by making Southlands greater.

My Ideas

The ways in which I will aim to do this include;

  • Improved Wi-Fi across the college.
  • Washing machines [also] accepting card payments.
  • Reward system for buying food on campus.
  • Focus groups that aim to highlight anything positive/negative within the college
  • More promotion of the college via social media.
  • Using more of our resources to give back to the local community.

I know that this role requires my devout attention throughout the year to listen to your views to work with Flat Reps, the college and the RSU, and I’ll make sure that my attention is focused purely on holding the high standards of Southlands.

Last (and definitely not least), it’ll feel right to have the College Cup in the hands (or fins!) of Southlands, and I will make sure that I work with the Deputy, Flat Reps and everyone involved with the college to make great things happen.

Remember – Dream big, Act bigger.
