Let's Make Roehampton Sport Great Again! Inclusive for all, competition and fun is what sport is all about. Join me on the journey to make 2023/24 our best year yet!

Who am I?

I am Naeel Radha, Currently Football President and First Team Captain. My competitiveness is leading us on to what looks like back to back league titles. Acting in those roles has shown how I have been organising training, Matches and Socials (e.g. Go Karting and the Milan trip)

What do I want to implement as Sports President?

  • A more social sports environment
  1.  I understand the importance of a crowd support whilst an athlete performs, let's try and get these numbers at a record high. We are all part of one family. Throughout the year I have been getting the football team and beyond to support other Roey fixtures and it has always had a positive impact on our sportsmen/women performing.
  2. It is also important for our sports teams to be social off the pitch. Whether this is at the union after every BUCS Wednesday or at a local venue, our athletes should be celebrated each week with results of matches also being announced at these times. Not only would this create more of a bond within the sport community here at Roehampton, but also encourage more people to get involved.
  3. Have more fun social sport activities to invite people of all abilities to get stuck in and have fun. Sport is a great way to make new friends, as well as invrease productivity in the classroom. Sport here at Roehampton is open to everyone!
  • Increase our competitveness
  1. More training sessions
  2. Time in the gym for our athletes to get fit and stronger to compete
  3. Start our sports year earlier to ensure teams are ready for the first fixtures of BUCS/LUSL
  • Grasping opportunities outside of university
  1. It is no secret here at Roehampton we have the best athletes around, However currently there is a lack of awareness from local/national clubs and organisations of what our students are capable of. Therefore as Sports President I would ensure that each and every one of our teams is being somewhat monitored, having the chance to be scouted to find success at the next level of competition.
  • Lowering the cost to PLAY at Roehampton
  1. As we are all students, some people may find it difficult to fork out £100+ (not including equipment such as boots or rackets) for memberships and kits to compete. Consequently, I believe as a university we should be using sponsors to bring these costs down so people from every background can participate and not have to worry about not being able to afford playing costs.

Why should you vote for me?

Voting for me means you will have someone Competitive, Hard working and Relentless being your voice and acting promptly on whatever a competitor may need. We have incredible Athletes here at our beloved university, and it is time to show the rest of England what we are made of.

Not only will I do the above, but I have many more points on the Agenda.
