There are lots of things that you can do in and around the Roehampton area, and while it was super hard to choose, we’ve picked out our Top 5 of those things to recommend to you!

1. VOLUNTEER WITH GROWHAMPTON

Treat them green, keep them keen! A practical, fun and inspiring experience. Join the Growhampton team with growing and harvesting all sorts of nutritious vegetables and fruit on campus, visit and look after our on-site chickens and help create a sustainable lifestyle for all.

With on campus sessions such as ‘Give it a Grow’, ‘Chicken Care’ and so much more, Volunteering is the perfect way to get involved with the Roehampton Community.

2. GRAB A DRINK AT THE HIVE CAFÉ

Not to be biased on anything, but The Hive Cafe do the best coffee - period! Why not head to Digby Square and see for yourself? And if you’re not into coffee, don’t worry, they have plenty more delicious treats to offer, (my personal fave is the oat milk hot chocolate!)

Whether you want a quick snack or a hearty lunch (soup of the day anyone?), The Hive is perfect to serve your needs. Plus, if you want to purchase any of the fresh goods grown on campus, this is where you get it!

3. TAKE A WALK IN RICHMOND PARK

We are so luckily to be in such close proximity to one of London’s largest and most loved Royal parks. Just turn right out of Clarence Gate on Froebel, head down the road and before you know it, you’re at Richmond Park!

2,500 acres of land and so much to explore - wide open spaces, grasslands, deer herds, trails, woodland gardens, wildlife and much more. Richmond Park also connects Roehampton to other places in London, such as Kingston and Richmond itself – so if you want an interesting route, take a walk or bike ride through the park!

4. VISIT PUTNEY HIGH STREET

Only a quick bus ride (or a comfortable walk) away from Roehampton, Putney High Street is brimming with things to do. For all you shopaholics, the Putney Exchange is a great place to serve your needs – including shops like H&M, Waterstones, Tiger, Superdrug, to name a few!

If you need to find somewhere to eat, then you are quite literally spoiled for choice with the amount of café and restaurant options! And as for pubs, clubs and bars, Putney Highstreet has you sorted! (You’ll often find Roehampton students hanging out at the famed Revolution!)

And if you want to watch the latest blockbuster movie – well, just head to the ODEON Luxe cinema and grab your popcorn! Honestly, whether it’s a daytime or evening activity you need, Putney High Street is the place to be!

(TRAVEL: Bus Route 265, 430 or 85. One stop on the Train from Barnes station. East Putney and Putney Bridge station, DISTRICT LINE)

5. GO SEE A SHOW

Theatre is such a staple part of London life, and while the West End is best know for it’s dizzying heights of glitz, glam and show-stopping magic, there are other theatres across London providing equally exciting entertainment.

We have some fantastic venues much closer to home near Roehampton. Check out what is on at: OSO Arts Centre (Barnes), Putney Arts Centre (Putney), Richmond Theatre (Richmond), Rose Theatre (Kingston), and Eventim Apollo (Hammersmith).
