Dear Students,

As you may have heard, as a part of a national dispute surrounding pay and pensions across UK universities, the University and College Union (UCU) has recently passed a vote in favour of strike action.

As such, this means that some Union members at the University of Roehampton will be striking for three days from 1st to 3rd December.

We understand that this may cause some disruption to your studies and we want to make it clear that we are here for you.

To ensure we are representing you properly the RSU President, Farrah Black has called an emergency Students’ Union Council (SUC) meeting to discuss the issue with your elected officers as part of our democratic structure.

During this time, the SUC will take a vote on whether Roehampton Students’ Union (RSU) will stand with or against this planned strike action.

The Emergency SUC meeting will take place on Monday 29th November at 17:00 and will be broadcast on the RSU Facebook channel for you to watch along and offer feedback.

RSU will be making no further comment on the matter until after the Emergency SUC meeting has taken place and a position has been democratically established.

Thank you,
