Student feedback is incredibly important to the work we do as your SU. See how it all works...
At Roehampton Students’ Union, we’re here to support you - so, naturally, your feedback is incredibly important to everything we do.
Programme Reps and School Reps have been actively raising student feedback and working with the Students’ Union and University teams to resolve issues and improve students’ academic experience.
Recent Wins:
- 96 LHS students at Croydon experienced issues with their university enrolment and access to key university systems. The issue was raised through Programme Reps, investigated with students and the University, and ultimately resolved for the vast majority of affected students. This was a good example of reps identifying a significant issue and continuing to raise it until a resolution was found.
- Students being missing from their academic modules was also raised through Academic Representation. The issue was investigated and resolved within 24 hours, ensuring affected students could properly access their studies.
- Reps have also raised a range of other issues around enrolment, access to academic resources, timetabling and the student academic experience across different Schools. Some have already been resolved, while others are still being followed up with the relevant University teams.
Some wins happen quickly, some take a little longer behind the scenes, but know that we are always working towards representing you to the best of our ability.
How the feedback process works:
Students have two main ways to raise an academic issue:
- Speak to their Programme Rep or School Rep
- Students can find their reps through the Academic Representation Hub.
- Reps listen to concerns, gather information from other students where relevant and raise issues through the appropriate channels.
- Submit feedback directly to the Students’ Union
- Students can use the Academic Representation Feedback Form.
- The SU reviews the feedback and works with the relevant School/University team and student representatives to understand and address the issue.
Closing the feedback loop:
An important part of the process is closing the feedback loop.
Once an issue has been raised, the SU and reps work with the relevant schools and university teams to understand what is happening, follow up on the issue and, where possible, communicate the outcome or progress back to the students who raised it.
The process is essentially:
Student raises an issue → Reps and SU receive the feedback → Issue is investigated → SU, reps and relevant University teams work towards a resolution → Students are updated → Feedback loop is closed.
