This year’s theme for LGBTQ+ History Month is “Science and Innovation’ a powerful tribute to the achievements and advancements in science and technology made by LGBTQ+ people throughout history and across the globe.

However, in this year’s theme we also acknowledge the historical harm that was inflicted on the LGBTQ+ community through the exploration and misuse of science and misinformation, including the classification of homosexuality as a ‘mental disorder’ as well as treatments such as ‘conversion therapy’ which still exist in some places to this day.

Throughout this month we will be advertising events that the opportunity to learn further about LGBTQ+ history and provide opportunities to join together with other like-minded people!
