February has been an incredibly active month for our student groups - here is this month's spotlight.

February has been an incredibly active month for our student groups, with members taking part in trips, workshops, social events, and creative projects. It’s that time again to highlight some of our student groups who have been doing excellent work throughout the past month.

Roehampton Players

In February, Roehampton Players took members to Budapest, exploring the National Opera House and the city’s rich culture and history. Back on campus, auditions and rehearsals for And Then There Were None are in full swing. It’s been an exciting month as the society prepares for their next big performance.

Christian Union

The Christian Union’s events week was a hit, with guest speakers, lively discussions, and free food bringing students together. The week strengthened community spirit, with a special shoutout to President Hannah for her hard work in organising and supporting the activities.

Desi Society

February was a milestone month for Desi Society, who won Best Student Society in the UK at the NISAU Achievers Awards (Class of 2026). Their work celebrating South Asian culture, supporting wellbeing, and creating an inclusive community continues to inspire and engage members.

Hallyu Society

Hallyu Society continued their popular weekly dance sessions, led by President Maddie Bray. Members bring energy and creativity while learning new choreography, keeping the sessions fun, collaborative, and welcoming for all.

Anime & Manga Society

One of our newest groups, Anime & Manga Society, hosted relaxed social events where members can connect, share interests, and make friends. February also saw collaborations with Esports Society, marking an exciting start for this growing community.

Law Society

Law Society stayed active with a mix of social and academic events, including a collaborative murder mystery with Roehampton Players. Members also developed their legal skills through ongoing academic sessions, making February both fun and productive.

Pakistani Society

Pakistani Society were busy with events, such as organising a Valentine’s craft night, a games night, and partnering with Desi Society for a cricket screening. They also collaborated with Chaplaincy for a Ramadan iftar, celebrating culture, connection, and community engagement.

Business Society

Business Society worked with the Faculty of Business and Law on a social media workshop and LinkedIn photo event. These opportunities helped students improve professional skills while connecting with peers interested in business and career development.

Tamil Society

Tamil Society had a strong February, combining engaging events with a creative social media presence. Their consistent content promotes Tamil culture while encouraging more students to get involved with this vibrant and welcoming community.

Philosophy Society

Philosophy Society hosted discussions on life, morality, and free will, alongside formal debates and relaxed social events with games and trivia. They continue to create a friendly, inquisitive space for students to explore big ideas together.
