With all the excitement, it’s easy to forget some Summer Ball essentials, so we’ve put together this handy guide to the big day, with everything you could possibly need to remember. Read on and take note!

Buy your ticket

Don’t forget this simple but crucial step! Buy your pass into the Roehampton event of the year as soon as possible. We also sell guest tickets to the event so you can always bring that best pal from home, your partner or your favourite family member.

Student ID

Student ID is a condition of entry, so ensure that you have it on you in order to receive your wristband, as you’ll need to provide it to get in, even if you have an email confirmation. If you are bringing a guest, they will need to show legal ID, and won’t be allowed in without you - you’re in this together!

Ticket Confirmation

Don’t worry too much if you haven’t received an email confirmation, you can always have a look on your purchase history within your roehamptonstudent.com account, if you see the ticket listed, you’re good to go! If it’s not there, give us a shout and we’ll get things sorted.

Have a look at the weather forecast a few days in advance and figure out which of these you’ll need! Historically, Summer Ball has been hot. Our fingers are crossed for this trend to continue, but unfortunately, it’s one of the only things that are out of our control, so as well as stocking up on Suncream, make sure you have a waterproof poncho/coat/overalls on standby. We don’t need to tell you how unpredictable British weather can be!

Formal Wear

Whilst the daytime part of Summer Ball has no dress code, the second half requires ‘Formal Wear’. Don’t forget to plan your outfit in advance, and, as above, remember to consider the weather! If the sun shines as brightly as we’re hoping for, it will still get chilly after the sunset, so bear this in mind and bring something to keep you warm.

Bring both cash and card to make the most out of the food and drink on offer at Summer Ball. You can purchase a drinks wristband on the day, from which you’ll be able to exchange tokens for most drinks, keep some cash handy though as the food vendors will be cash only.

Think about how you want your Summer Ball to be, and make a rough plan about what to do - who you want to see, which rides you want to go on etc. If your plan includes alcohol, make sure to drink responsibly and intersperse your drinks with water.
