To celebrate this years LGBTQ+ History Month we are hosting a variety of events for you to enjoy:

Wednesday 18 February, we are hosting a ‘Crafternoon’ in the Hive Café from 14:00 - 16:00. This is your opportunity to paint a plate while chatting with like-minded people in a relaxed and creative setting. Tickets are £5 and include a barista-made drink for you to enjoy.

Thursday 19 February from 13:00 - 14:00 in MA210 (Mandela Building), Roehampton Students’ Union Campaigns and Insight Coordinator and queer historian Freddie Newell will deliver an LGBTQ+ History Lecture. Freddie will explore how historical backlash against the LGBTQ+ community has never disappeared but has instead been reimagined and repurposed within today’s political climate. The event is free to attend and offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about the strength and resilience of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

Tuesday 24 February from 13:00 - 15:30 in the Sir David Bell Cinema Room, we will be hosting an LGBTQ+ History Month ‘Film Afternoon’. We will be screening Pride, a film that highlights the unexpected bond between LGBTQ+ activists and striking Welsh miners as they confront prejudice and discrimination, challenge the status quo, and build solidarity across communities. This event is free to attend
