Overview

Roehampton Students’ Union and the LGBTQ+ Students’ Society present the first LGBTQ+ Students Conference on Wednesday 7th February 2018. Registration opening at 1.30pm and the conference starting at 2pm in Monte Hall, The Union Bar

The themes of the conference are Empowerment, Leadership and Celebration with the slogan ‘Just Be Who You Wanna Be’

Matt Henry MBE will be our keynote speaker for the event. Matt Henry is a Roehampton Alumni and former Flat Rep (College Tutor) for Digby Stuart College. Matt Henry was a prominent member of Roehampton Players being involved in a number of different productions including playing the role of Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Outside of Roehampton, Matt has gone onto do amazing things – Matt was a contestant and finalist on The Voice UK and most recently originated the role of Lola in the West End transfer of the award winning Broadway musical – Kinky Boots. Matt is an Olivier Award winning actor for his role in Kinky Boots and has just been awarded an MBE as part of the Queen’s New Year’s Honour List for services to theatre and arts.

Our panel discussion will consist of four fantastic panellists and the conference will feature a number of musical treats but most importantly it will be a feel good event.
