Tuesday 31 March 2020
2pm - 4pm
In this session we’ll focus on soil health and having a spring clean of the allotment growing beds. There will be a chance to learn the basics of soil ecology and some of the different creatures and unseen organisms which sustain human life on this planet.
We’ll dig in the green manure which grew over the winter months - including mustard, phacelia and broad beans - and add our own chicken compost.
We’ll finish the session by planting spring crops including beetroot, rainbow chard, radishes, spinach and kale.
No need to sign up, just meet in front of the RSU Reception on Froebel at 2 pm, or find us at the allotments between the tennis courts and dance studios if you’re joining later.
All welcome! No experience is necessary!
Free tea / coffee card for volunteers!
