Quick introduction, I'm Taryn I'm a flat rep for the college and a College Community Leader (CCL)
The nutjob that handed out facepaint at laser tag, and the founder of our all in one Southlands group chat, and here is why I'm running to be your VP/Deputy President
- I love the college. We're a vibe of socially driven, amazing individuals from across the world. We're a community that laughs together, drinks together, and is always down for a good time. We are literally known to be the College that's loud on a Friday night, I wanna keep that reputation going. We're here for a good time with a side of a degree.
- I want to see us do more, be more, and grow to be the best college at Roehampton. And below is how I plan to do this
So to start off with, The VP/Deputy gets 75% off their rent, which is amazing. I plan to reinvest some of the money I'll be saving back into our college. I want to set up Food packs for our Sharks/Sharkettes financially struggling or facing quarantine with COVID19, and use both our flat rep team and CCL team to distribute these to anyone in need, whether they're commuting Southland Students or Residential.
Use our social spaces. Let's have Southlands exclusive Karaoke in the Reef, Make your own cocktail/mocktail nights, get some more benches/furniture out on the quad so we can socialize and relax after classes in comfort.
Work with you to make sure your accommodation is up to scratch. No one should be paying for a room or a flat that isn't in the condition promised upon arrival. Have everything you need so you and your flatmates can live in clean, happy homes.
Commuting Southlands Student? I'll work to have your student hub in Queens Building contain what you need in between or waiting for classes. Whether this is Charging points, comfy chairs, light snacks. Talk to me, let's work it out :)
I'm in this election to make our home away from home, the College we commute to, a place where we all feel happy, welcome, and supported :)
