    Rent Refund

    Expired
The university should refund a percentage of accommodation rent payments for this term until teaching resumes in person on the 25/01/21. They did it last term during the lockdown, why not now? This should especially cover the Christmas period due to the government guidelines that were announced to allow students to go home during the travel window of the 3rd-9th December and consequently had to attend online lectures rather than the in-person lectures that students believed would run the whole term. Therefore, 100% of the rent after the 3rd of December to the end of teaching before Christmas should be refunded to students as people have been actively encouraged by the government to not live in the accommodation that had already been paid for. Other universities such as Manchester Uni has agreed to a 30% rent reduction for this term, University of Liverpool students are also receiving rent rebates for the dates of 03/12/20-18/12/20 and are offering rebates for 04/12/20-25/12/20.
