Roehampton offers a range of free, confidential support services to help you manage your mental health, wellbeing, and personal circumstances.
Your wellbeing matters to us. Roehampton offers a range of free, confidential support services to help you manage your mental health, wellbeing, and personal circumstances.
Student Wellbeing Officers:
Student Wellbeing Officers (SWOs) are your first point of contact for any wellbeing concerns. They can listen, offer guidance, and signpost you to appropriate support both within the University and externally. Each academic school and college has a designated SWO who offer in person and online appointments throughout the week.
SWOs also run 15‑minute Quick Query appointments, available daily via Microsoft Teams or phone, which can be booked here up to 48 hours in advance.
To access your departmental/collegiate SWO, look below:

Counselling Service:
The Counselling Service provides short‑term psychological support for students experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, homesickness, relationship difficulties, or low motivation. Support is available either online or in person at the Wellbeing Centre.
Depending on your needs, you may be offered:
- A one‑off solution focused session, or
- A short course of up to six weekly sessions
The service is accessed through self referral here, and guidance from your Student Wellbeing Officer can help you decide if counselling is the right option for you.
Mental Health Advising:
Mental Health Advisers support students with diagnosed mental health conditions, ongoing symptoms, or those seeking help accessing NHS or specialist services. Advisers work with you to develop coping strategies, support your wellbeing, and coordinate external care where appropriate.
To discuss your eligibility for this support, please contact the Disability and Dyslexia Service by emailing disabilities@roehampton.ac.uk.
Sexual Violence Liaison Officers:
Sexual Violence Liaison Officers (SVLOs) offer specialist, confidential support to students who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives. They can help you understand your options, access internal and external support, and make informed decisions at your own pace. Support is available online or face-to-face, with no obligation to report.
You can book to speak with an SVLO here and you can choose an hour slot that works best with you with an SVLO of your choice.
If you have a question, you can also contact the team by email at SVLO@roehampton.ac.uk.

If you live on campus, College Wardens are available for out‑of‑hours wellbeing support via Campus Security on 020 8392 3140 (non-emergencies) or 020 8392 3333 (emergencies only).
