Hey people, I’m Dj Merci. I’ve been DJing for half of my life now which is crazy. I grew up in east London and saw the birth of grime music and that was my first introduction to DJing. 

What’s your fav genre right now?

I’m loving new wave R&B & at the moment. US acts like Brent Faiyaz/Sonder. Also SAINt JHN

Who’s been your fav artist that you’ve supported? 

I was lucky enough to DJ for Skepta in Kavos which was amazing. This is around the time he just dropped ‘Thats Not Me’ and brand a new buzz to grime. 

What’s been your fav gig?

For 2022 it’s been Ghetts at Summerset House

What excites you about playing here at Roehampton?

The sound system and lighting is amazing and it’s always good vybz from the crowd. 

What can students expect from your sets?

I’m multi genre so I can play current commercial, hip hop/rnb, garage, afrobeats house & dancehall. I can gauge crowds well so I never let my sets get stale.
