What is a Liberation Rep?
A Liberation Rep is a current Roehampton student who belongs to one of the NUS-defined Liberation Communities. These include: Disabled, LGBT+, Trans, Women, and Racialised students. These Reps then represent their community at the NUS Liberation Conference which is run by NUS to develop impactful campaigns that go after the root cause of barriers and problems.
There are five NUS Liberation Reps:

- LGBT+ - Vacant
- Trans - Vacant
- Racialised - Vacant
- Women - Abbigail Parkin
What do Liberation Reps do?
Liberation Reps are selected by Students’ Unions specifically to vote for the NUS Vice President Liberation and Equality
How will Reps be selected?
Following the close of applications, Reps will be randomly selected using a sortition process to ensure there is a Rep for each of the categories above. We will be using a randomised process to remove any possible bias from our selection. All delegates chosen will then be contacted about the next steps.

- Commitment to participating in national campaigns and movement building
- Ability to bring together students on campus
- A commitment to representing students at a national level
- Motivated change-maker
Duties:
- Voting for the next NUS VP Liberation and Equality
- Attending hustings
- Participating in NUS campaign actions and activities
Our NUS Reps
Alongside liberation reps, we have NUS Reps. These are current Roehampton students or sabbatical officers that represent Roehampton students by participating in NUS campaign actions, regional campaign days and activities throughout the year. Submitting SU priorities, ensuring students have their voice heard and attend NUS democratic events in the Autumn and vote in NUS elections.
For NUS Reps, they'll soon be voting in the NUS Full Time Officer Elections including the NUS President.
