Special thanks to all of you who responded to the Roehampton Bus Campaign survey and to everyone who volunteered to be part of this campaign. The question now is, what's next?
Dear Roehampton Changemakers,
We reached out to you and 621 of you responded! Special thanks to all of you who did the Roehampton Bus Campaign survey and to everyone who volunteered to be a part of campaigning. The survey data will allow us to understand the challenges that our students face using the public bus routes and know what your demands are.
After one month, the survey has now officially come to an end. So, what’s next?
Next steps
Data Analysis
RSU team members are analysing the data gathered from the survey this week. Once we have finished this process, we will understand which bus route students use most, the period of the day it is used, any major challenges, and what improvements are being demanded. This analysis will help us to make objective recommendations and guide our conversations when meeting with relevant stakeholders.
Meeting with Wandsworth Council Mayor
On Mon 9 Mar, the College Presidents and I will be visiting the office of Jeremy Ambache, the Mayor of Wandsworth Council. We will meet with him and the Council Youth Mayors to discuss the transportation challenges our students face, and any opportunities available to the students locally.
Transport for London Roundtable Discussion with Deputy Chair Seb Dance
On Wed 11 Mar, we will join other student leaders from across London Universities in a roundtable discussion with TFL’s Deputy Chair, Seb Dance. Here, we will touch on issues such as cost of transportation for students, safety and sustainability concerns on transportation in London.
Support from MP for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields – Fleur Anderson
Fleur Anderson has been supporting us with this campaign from the start. We will send her a petition and recommendations from the data gathered from the survey, so she can present this in her Roehampton Bus Taskforce meeting with the Head of Buses for TfL and Cabinet Member for Transport and others, on Fri 20 Mar.
We will keep you informed from time to time as new developments unfold on this campaign. Thank you very much.
Joshua Kayode, RSU President
