Salary

£39,141.00 This post is initially offered on a fixed-term contact basis with an immediate start to July 31, 2024. Any offer of employment is subject to right to work in the UK clearance.

Hours

35 per week Monday to Friday. Proposals to work this post at a reduced FTE (to a minimum of 0.5 FTE) will be considered. If you would like to discuss this as part of your application, please state this in your supporting statement.

Role Purpose

The Head of Events and Marketing oversees delivery of a set programme of key flagship student events and communications and marketing operations for Roehampton Students’ Union. The role will focus on the delivery of the Fresher’s Week programme whilst maintaining the union’s day-to-day running of core term-time events progamme and communications functions.

As a member of the union's Senior Management Team, the role supports the implementation of key commercial activity that enables the union's core business of representation, development, and support to reach far into our diverse membership of students. In addition, the role oversees the way in which the union and its elected officers communicates with its members through physical materials, the web, and social media platforms.

The appointed candidate will have proven experience in events, communications, and people management. They will have experience of commercial, operations, and leadership in the area of events and marketing and have strong competency in planning, budgeting and financial management, and problem solving. We consider our events are considered to be of the highest standards in terms of quality and safety, so the appointed candidate will have an excellent understanding and experience of applying health and safety policy regulation and licencing policy to events. They will also be capable of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and be able to coordinate activities to promote the impact of the students' union.
