Event Description

Thursday 06 February 2020

2pm - 5pm

Overview

In this session we’ll focus on how to create a wormery for small spaces. A wormery is a great resource as it helps to recycle waste food and make a superb fertiliser for crops in the process. We’ll learn the basics of what you need to get a wormery started as well as key factors to consider in the design process: location, sun, shade, shelter, heat, hazards, risks, etc.

After the session we’ll enjoy a roaring fire in the Forest Theatre to mark the ancient, earth-based festival of Imbolc, which signals the beginning of spring. Imbolc is a chance to welcome the returning light, let go of the past and to look to the future. It represents clearing out the old, making both outer and inner space for new beginnings.

Meet in front of the RSU Reception on Froebel at 2 pm, or find us at the allotments between the tennis courts and dance studios if you’re joining later.

All welcome! No experience is necessary!

Free tea / coffee card for volunteers!
