Candidates standing in the RSU Elections 2020 must read, and agree adherence to the Election rules.
By submitting a nomination, candidates confirm their agreement to operate within the rules.
Candidates wishing to stand for the position of President, Vice President (Education) Vice President (Community and Welfare) or any of the College President positions must organise an informal (15-30 minute) meeting with the RSU Interim Chief Executive or Student Voice Coordinator, or the Head of the respective college by no later than Friday 6th March 2020.


Manifestos can only be submitted online.
Manifestos must be submitted before the close of Nominations. late submissions will not be accepted.


Candidates are required to attend a briefing session on Monday 9th March 17.00-19.00 (Room GO36, Gilbert Scott Lecture Theatre, Whitelands College). Candidates who do not attend this, without advising the Deputy Returning Officer risk disqualification from the elections.


Candidates wishing to use printed publicity must send a PDF of their poster or flyer design, along with their desired quantities by no later than 12.00 on Tuesday 10th March. RSU will print candidate publicity and release it to all candidates at a date and time set by the Deputy Returning Officer.


Candidate training on public speaking will be offered on Tuesday 10th March 17.00 - 19.00 in the Portrait Room, Froebel College. Attendance to this is optional.


Candidates will be invited to deliver a speech and participate in an debate with other candidates at an event on Thursday 12th March 17.00 - 22.00. Candidates will be provided a schedule of speeches and debates by the Deputy Returning Officer in advance.


Voting in the elections will take place online at and at polling stations located across each University College.
Voting opens at 10.00 on Monday 16th March
Voting closes at 15.00 on Thursday 19th March


Candidates are permitted to claim 50% of their respective election expenses from RSU. Expense claim forms must be submitted with receipts that clearly denote expenditure to the RSU reception no later than 12.00 on Friday 20th March.


Election results will be announced on Friday 20th March from 16.00 in Monte Hall.
