Hello There! I am Cameron Ranford and I am running or the osition of Treasurer Of SSOAP

The influence and ideas I want to bring to the society are the following:

Charity Fundraising: I aim to increase the amount of charity based fundraising that SSOAP does. We are such a wildly diverse group of students who I know just like me want to give back to the community around us. To help this I will ensure that we have at least one charity fundraising event every half term. This not only gives us as a society more opportunities to get closer and to bring more members in to the fold, but also a chance for us to express ourselves in new ways while giving back to our community

Full Scale Production Support: We as a society should also look to encourage the production of more shows such as ‘Redwater’ which was a massive success. To help this I would work very closely with the Social Secretary and Media and Marketing Officer to promote these shows as much as possible so that your craft and voice is heard. I would put funds forward for the promotional materials such as printing and paying for advertisements on the screens around campus

Making Our Budget Go Further: I want to make sure the society can successfully function, while also helping to provide equipment for performances. I propose that we introduce workshops for crafting and creating props for members of the society, providing a learning opportunity for people who may want to explore this field of theatre while also helping our budget go further. I will also make sure that all ideas provided to the committee are feasible for the budget and if not, we find ways to scale them down to fit, but are also just as good and carry the same purpose.

Reaching Out To More Potential Members: We are a family and we want this family to expand and keep growing, even after we move on. I will work to make sure that fresher’s and older students alike know that while SSOAP is a Drama society full of very Dramatic people, its welcome to everyone no matter who they are or what they study. Hell I’m a film student myself (Don’t tell my parents its embarrassing)

This is only the beginning of my ideas that I hope you like! I aim to make SSOAP even better than it already is as much as I can as Treasurer, keeping this community of amazing bubbles as vibrant and exciting as possible! We will make this year the best SSOAP has had!
