Film is something that I have always had a profound interest in. It is why I chose to study film as my degree and why I became part of the film society in the first place. It is also why I jumped at the opportunity to become part of the team that will be in charge of the society.

I am running for the society Treasurer because I want to help create a community. I want to create a space where those who love film as much as I do can come and lose themselves in that week’s screening or engage in passionate conversations and debates about their favourite films.

I also feel as though the society has a lot of potential. I really feel that we can make it even better and get more people to come to the society if we:

• Create a strong sense of togetherness for our members to feel apart of.
• Offer more opportunities for the members to be more involved in the decision making.
• Establish friendships through socials.

I think that the most important thing is that while we get to know each other and support each other, we also just have a good time doing what we love!
