I’m Martin - a nonbinary trans-masculine student of English Literature. I’m running for Trans Officer because I believe we could do so much better to support and provide for all trans and gender-nonconforming people of Roehampton.

I have found the environment at Roehampton amazingly trans-friendly, but I believe there is much to improve. I’m willing to work hard until each and every one of us can feel safe and respected.

If I am elected, I would like to create the following changes:

-          I will campaign for unisex toilets.

-          I would like to incorporate the option of preferred name when signing up for the medical centre, modules, and more. The same goes for preferred pronouns, changing the name your university card, and personal information on the student portal.

-          As a Trans Officer I’d like to provide information and support for all students, questioning or not – that includes sharing knowledge for safe binding, options for transition (if applicable), where you can seek medical help and any other question. I’m here to listen and help.

-          I aim to create a community where we can feel safe and respected.

I believe that together we can strive for more and achieve the best – these ideas are just the beginning.
