I am running for Chair because I believe in the importance of having a fair and equilibrated Student Union. I am not representing anyone but I care for everyone.
Hello, Roehampton Students!
My name is Greta Zaltieri and I am a second-year Drama, Theatre & Performance student. I am also a Programme Rep and volunteer for the RSU.
I am running as Chair of the Student Council because I care about people and what they have to say: the main part of my job will be making sure that everyone in the Student Council has a fair chance to express themselves.
This position is a new, important one that requires someone to breathe life into it and I am sure I am qualified to start shaping it and give it a brilliant start.
If elected, during my time as Chair of the Students’ Council I will:
- Be a neutral point of reference for all the other officers. I am not representing anyone, but I strongly care about everyone’s point of view, and this is exactly the reason why I will be able to represent and guide the RSU with integrity and fairness.
- Chair the Union’s meetings and make sure that every officer has their space and time to talk. Improvement is something we all need and look forward to, and I will assure that everyone has a fair chance to report to and take action within the RSU, preventing injustices and/or inequalities in the board.
- Oversee the schedule of the Council, make sure that everyone receives proper notice about events, and administrate the paperwork, employing all my organizational skills in order to encourage participation and full engagement.
Being Chair of the Students’ Union Council is a coordination role that requires organization: I am confident I would be a good officer because I am precise, punctual and I do not hesitate to speak my mind if I think something is not right.
My experience as Programme Rep and even my role in my group of friends and in my classes, are evidence of the fact that I am usually the person who steps up when structure needs to be provided and people need to be guided in order to achieve their best results.
You will have wonderful officers to represent you and bring forward the causes you believe in: I personally believe in the power of a Student Union that stands united and lives up to its core principles, always remembering that the reason for our work is you to have the best university experience possible. Caring about causes, but above all, caring about people, is what brought me to be a candidate in this election; caring will continue driving me on my path as an officer.
