SAVED BY THE BELLE I’m not invinci-Belle, but here’s the plan: More study spaces, improve communication between departments, recognise students and make course content accessible.

SAVED BY THE BELLE

You may know me from my presidency and active roles in many societies. I’m also a senior flat rep, the current disabilities officer and a student/social media ambassador. You might remember me from nights at Bop and being the Belle of the Summer Ball which is good because I don’t.

I’ve had plenty of experience campaigning, including getting 300,000 signatures to make Google change their routes on Google Maps to be wheelchair friendly.

After this success and the encouragement of many, I’m determined I can represent and fight on behalf of all Roehampton students. I’m running for each and every one of you to demand you get the quality of education you’re paying for.

How? I’m not invinci-Belle, but here’s the plan:

Offer More Study Spaces

- 24 hour study rooms available on main campus
- Outside classrooms
- Field trips for all subjects
- Advertise free classrooms to use when they’re not being used for lectures
- Offer temporary accommodation for students undertaking overnight projects

Improve Communication Between Departments

- Provide provisional grades and module calculator
- Text alerts about lecture cancellations and one week deadline/exam warnings
- Improve the logging absences/circumstances process to cover mental health leave
- Adapt the appeals process
- Feedback on time, deadline for lecturers

Recognise Students

- Academic achievement awards for high achievers
- More recognition for those running societies and volunteering as extra credit
- Subject formals and socials
- Study/ reading groups and student to student mentoring

Make Course Content More Accessible

- Trial potential lectures before the module selection process
- Department panels, debating sessions and podcasts
- Visiting guest lecturers to host classes to all
- Refresher lectures half way through the year of all the content previously studied
- Compulsory reading list made available for the whole class in the library or online
