Place your trust in a 3rd-year student who studies Creative and Professional Writing to be your next Digby President. Having lived in Elm Grove for 3 years in a row now, I’m suitably qualified to be a voice for the voiceless when I’m elected your president during my master's year. Under my presidency, I aim to make the campus a more safe and community centred environment.

I won’t bore you with fluff and analogies, so here are some key points for my campaign.

Women's safety on campus - I’m fortunate enough to have met a lot of amazing people during my time here, some especially strong and independent women. To this day, however, we can all still encounter issues that I’m personally disgusted by, so I want to put women's safety on campus at the forefront of my thinking and ideas.

I want to continue to push anti-spiking cups at the Union, further advocating for more lighting throughout campus in the evenings and placing extra security guards throughout dark spaces of the forest after events such as Karaoke and Nova, so that everyone can get home without fear.

Nocturnal Campus - I do my best work in the evenings, as that’s when I feel most productive. The campus itself has never been that friendly to a night owl such as myself, with vending machines providing our only source of sustenance.

I’m going to push for a 24/7 library, more vending machines, later diner/shop closing times, and potentially an A&E on campus for 24/7 emergencies. We should have no excuses for accommodating everyone's study styles.

Student Peace - There’s been far too much disruption from external factors during our daily student lives that have been completely out of our control. I want to bring that control back.

I’m advocating for clearer communication about maintenance visits, false alarm fire alarms and tangible punishments for those who do set up fire alarms on purpose.

I also will be pushing for permanent benches to be instilled within Elm Grove, akin to Shaw House.

With the influx of study abroad students moving here in January, I thought a fantastic initiative for Digby to run would be four separate monthly coach trips from January to May ending at popular destinations such as Edinburgh, Bath, etc.

When voting opens, vote BANKS to ensure that I can continue building upon the foundations that were laid down by my friend, the 2023 President.

Vote BANKS to bank on Digby's future.
