Being a student here for 4 years I’ve seen it all. This role is about YOUYOUR education, and YOUR welfare. I’m all about making positive changes and by working alongside you as students, being a program representative for my department has allowed me to represent the student voice throughout my master’s degree, but I feel like it’s not enough to finish there. I want to make sure that YOUR voice is not only heard but listened to.

I believe I can make this happen. I aim to represent students on various matters such as:

WEDNESDAYS FREE FOR SPORTS.

How will I solve it?

  •  It’s time the University makes a change by having no afternoon lectures on a Wednesday for both undergraduates and postgraduates. Majority of students are having lectures to as late as 6pm and for some even having lectures on ONLY a Wednesday, then straight after they have a sport society to attend leaving them mentally exhausted. This needs to CHANGE.

24HR Library during times you NEED it most.

How will I solve it?

  •  Many things can get in the way of student studies during assignment and exam period that is out of your control. Having services available such as 24hr library hours, especially during times like coming to Christmas break, will benefit a huge support system in allowing students to complete their work in a comforting environment.

Future opportunities

How will I solve it?

  • Students need MORE direction towards internship opportunities and MORE placement options for them regarding their choice of study. This will be done through making sure services such as seminars, modules and student fairs are improved, ensuring that students are enlightened about the various exciting career options they can undertake regarding their course of study.

Recording of lectures and seminars

How will I solve it?

  • Many things can get in the way before a lecture/seminar and students could miss important information, having a recording of lectures and seminars being a permanent feature, would allow students to always listen and look back to reflect things that they could have missed.

IMPROVE THE SYSTEM - Have YOUR say, chat away.

What and how?

  • It is time to improve the system! I will hold a weekly ‘chat away’ informal session, either online or in person whatever suites best for YOU. Students should be able to 'drop in' and ask questions regarding topics from education within the University and Union, your results, graduation, to anything that is affecting your studies, making sure you are looked after whether you are studying online, on an exchange, or an internship and being checked upon from somebody in your department.

More inclusivity across education

How will I solve it?

  •  It's time we improve ALL together. International students need BETTER support, more bursaries to minority groups, BETTER support for trans students, we need to have more active Bystander training for things to improve alongside improved knowledge on how we as a community could DO better to those who need it most.
