Who am I ?

So this is a section where I can just mention a few things about me firstly If you’ve watched my campaign video (and if you haven’t why haven’t you go watch it… only kidding) but yes I’m part of the elite group of people who have over 100 subs on the YouTube. I am a third year Drama student moving on to a PGCE course and learning to teach Drama for a living. So ill be here still and hoping to give back to the society.

Over this year I have been involved with “What fresh hell is this”, ”Punk rock” and parodies I was also set to be in Legally Blonde and have been treasurer for the year as well.

Through the years I have been a part of many shows these include:

What would I like to improve in the society?

Increasing the number of socials

I’d love to see more socials for the society, maybe that could be another parodies night or a drunk drama games night where the society hang out and play a load of rehearsal games like mafia and even buzzy bees, these would be open to the whole society not just certain cast’s so that we involve everyone. I would also like to see a fundraising event for each of the shows we put on something that connects to the show so that we can generate more interest for it and bring in more money that can be used on the show itself.

Stronger links with other society’s and starting joint fundraisers and events

I really want to see our ties grow stronger with other society’s I think we need strong links between us and societies like the SSOAP, dance society, music society, Drag society and those are just to name a few. I’d like to have joint socials with them so we can really cement a bond between more societies and this will hopefully bring in more members for us as well. Following on from this point I’d like to work on growing our relationship with The Tech Team at the university because I believe that can help bring us new opportunities for the society and make things just a little bit easier for us.

Merchandise for the society

I’d also like to work on the merch side of things, just a few things like a hoodie and potentially other things. I would be hoping to do a poll around the start of the year to see what people would be interested in us making and then go from there contacting who we would need to contact in order to get it done.

Making sure we don’t lose what we’ve got already

Jack and Katie have done an amazing Job throughout this year and it’s a massive shame that this year had to be cut short by the virus so really I think a massive part of this could be keeping it all going and to the standards it has been this year there will be a lot of adapting that will need to happen as this will continue to affect us all in different ways. So, I’m willing to work hard to not only keep what this society is but improve it as well.
