RSU brings home two excellent awards.
Roehampton Students’ Union brought home the Green Impact Excellence award as well as NUS Diversity award for diversity & Inclusivity.
On 5th July Roehampton Students’ Union received the NUS Diversity Award for their work on Diversity & Inclusivity. “The variety of initiatives they then embarked on to deliver this was impressive, particularly when you take account of the relative size and resources of the SU. Importantly, the whole change programme has been a collaboration with staff and students and is making a real tangible impact. “
The previous and current sabbatical teams were there to claim the award and they vowed to continue the work on Diversity. “It was a great honour to win the award and we look forward to surpassing ourselves and achieving more’ said Joanna Briggs, current VP Education.
Green Impact published their annual report and RSU was amongst only 7 Students’ Unions in the country to receive Excellence award. 81 Students’ Unions entered the scheme and Roehampton scored 46% above the average in the scheme. NUS Green Impact auditor had this to say ”Well done for all your Green Impact efforts this year, it has been great to get a better understanding of what you've been leading on sustainability locally. Good luck for next year and I look forward to hearing how your work progresses.”
“We’re very proud to receive this award! It’s such a great step towards sustainability becoming the norm in an organization, and being positive role models for our student body who will put these actions into practice on campus and beyond ” said Celia Briseid, Growhampton Project Coordinator.
Roehampton Students’ Union is very excited to receive these awards and have vowed to continue the work and development of these areas.
