Italy was hit by earthquakes on 24 August, leaving 296 dead and nearly 5,000 homeless.

City Lit Opera School from Covent Garden was studying in Umbria at the time, and we are hosting them here at Roehampton on Friday 28 October in support of the Italian Red Cross. They will be performing one of Puccini’s short operas, Gianni SchicchiIt lasts 45 minutes and it fits in your lunchbreak, starting at 1.10pm and finishing before 2pm.

Admission is free and there will be buckets for a collection for the Italian Red Cross

It’s a great comic piece with one of Puccini’s most popular arias –‘O mio babinno caro’.
