The people’s President ” and “A vote for Tia is a vote 4 U

My name is Tamiah Forbes aka Tia or Fairy, I am 20 years old studying Criminology. I am the current president of Digby college. I would like to continue on in my position to have the ability to make history with you again. I am the first black female president of Digby, I’d like to be the first to be elected twice! My time as president has allowed me to put my foot in the door. I’m able to represent my student body better now that I have built a report with Digby students and understand how to get a middle ground between the university and students. My first year as Digby President has brought forth:

A Black Hair Confrence: To educate myself and others on types of hair that black people have and how to best care for it.

Spark: Self contained events, creative and mysterious!

Welcome/ Christmas Socials

Fulfilled my role by covering RSU reception weekly, sitting on Accommodation subcommittee and SUC alongside college team meetings e.t.c.

If I am re-elected I can chase up on renovations for Digby Diner which I’ve already put in place for the pride. I will also make sure that the university continues to work on sorting the issue of laundry for Elm Grove.

What new? What will you bring this time around Tia?

Well..... first things first.... Me. There is no one who will do the job like me because there’s no one like me, the work I have already put in will flourish under my watchful eye, the person representing you is someone you know and can trust. No matter who you are your issues always have a home with me. Not to mention:

- Sexual Health campaign (can we promote having fun with knowledge and awareness)

Change the music at Bop ( Digby has spoken, It’s time for change!)

Change Grand to Embargo’s (Issa vibe) or another facility - That’s what students have asked for!

Lower the food price in the library/ On campus shop (too expensive!)

Water dispenser in Digby Diner

A welcome pack for off campus Digby students

 vegan options on Digby/around campus

Digby diners meals (with the exception of fridays ??: fish and chips)

International food dishes each month to the Diner

A night bus over freshers period

A societies festival

A ‘what is...’ monthly event where we talk about taboo subjects such as: STD’s self love/care, sexual orientation e.t.c

I am a president who cares, I have stuck with what I set out to do which is continually support students to gain what they need and want in our college. My campaign is all about you as Digby students. I’m here for you. I hope you believe in me to make round two as your Digby President count.

Have a magical day,

Love Tia x
