Candidate Statement
I would like to be considered for the role of Vice President for Froebel, as I have naturally strong leadership and organisational skills, together with a sound ability to listen and understand the wider community within Froebel and their needs/wants, whilst working within the constraints of how the University can also support each student. I am approachable, incredibly supportive, empathetic, but also vibrant and can bring a natural ability to create a fun, happy and inclusive environment. I am able to work exceedingly well in group settings as well as on my own initiative. I am considered a reliable peer, being able to step in at short notice as and when needed, together with excellent negotiation and communication skills. Integrity, respect and strong morals have been instilled in my upbringing and made me the person I am today.
I believe that the best candidate for Vice President of Froebel should possess all of the above qualities.
My Leadership skills started from a young age when I was elected House Captain and School Ambassador at primary school. This gave me a solid foundation to build upon during my years at secondary school and sixth form college, where I demonstrated my reliability and integrity when nominated as a school prefect, together with the responsibility of coaching children during my years at sixth form college, both of which required excellent negotiation skills and empathy, acting on behalf of both the school and students. My years in competitive swimming required not only self-discipline but also commitment when the task ahead seemed arduous but was nonetheless rewarding.
I was responsible for organising numerous charitable events raising money for causes close to my heart, such as bake sales and fun runs.
I played a key role in helping my friend achieve success in his firefighting physical exams.
