Candidate Statement
For this role, I will bring honesty. I will represent student voices truthfully, hold discussions about academic challenges, and take accountability for every action I take in this role. Also, I am empathetic, which allows me to truly understand student experiences whether its academic stress, accessibility barriers, or the need for inclusive teaching practices. I won't just hear feedback, I'll act on it with care and insight. I believe I am a resilient individual, which I think will make me the strongest candidate for this role. I won't back down when change is hard. I have faced setbacks in the past but I learned from them and kept moving forward. As your President Education, I'll persist in advocating for meaningful improvements, no matter the obstacles.
I bring relevant experience from my time as a Well-being Ambassador in sixth form, where I supported peers through academic and personal challenges. This role taught me how to listen actively, identify signs of stress, and guide students towards appropriate support where I believe these skills are directly transferable to the President of Education role.
I’ve helped students struggling with exam pressure, guided others to mental health resources, and promoted wellness initiatives that fostered a more supportive learning environment. This experience has strengthened my compassion and ability to advocate for student needs, especially when academic demands impact wellbeing. As President of Education, I’ll ensure academic policies are designed with empathy, and that every student regardless of background or challenge has access to the support they need to succeed.
One thing people should know about me is that I am deeply selfless and considerate.I will always put students’ needs first. I believe leadership means serving others, not seeking recognition. I’ll ensure every student receives the support they need.
