Candidate Statement
My name is Collins Nana Essah, and I’m passionate about building a college community where every student feels genuinely supported, empowered, and ready for life after university. As Programme Representative for the MBA Healthcare Management (Extended Masters), I’ve directly experienced how vital effective representation is, having someone who truly listens, understands students’ needs, and takes meaningful action.
I’m a calm, people-focused leader who listens attentively, communicates with clarity, and always acts with integrity. My key strength is uniting people, appreciating different viewpoints, and transforming student concerns into real, workable solutions. I’m well-organised, approachable, and fully dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected and valued. I lead with professionalism, reliability, and a sincere commitment to helping others thrive, which makes me a dependable and trusted advocate for Digby Stuart College.
In my role as Programme Representative for MBA Healthcare Management (Extended Masters), I regularly collect student feedback, raise issues with academic staff, and work to ensure student perspectives shape important decisions. This has sharpened my skills in advocacy, diplomacy, and creative problem-solving. My earlier professional experience in healthcare service coordination has equipped me to manage projects effectively, collaborate across diverse teams, and support individuals from varied backgrounds. I’m experienced in organising productive discussions, encouraging participation, and guiding students through key challenges, including employability, wellbeing, and transitioning beyond university. These abilities directly match the demands of the College President position.
I am deeply committed to helping students feel supported, confident, and prepared for life during and after university. I always show up, listen, and work hard to create positive change for the people I represent.
