Candidate Statement
Firstly: Hi, I'm Eleanor, you might've seen me around campus, admiring our green spaces or looking at the geese. I'm studying cyber security with a foundation year.

I'm running because I've spent the past two years working to make this university better, and I want to keep going. I've been highlighting issues like wifi, mice and peeling paint in halls, and the lack of 24-hour spaces on campus -- and whether I'm elected or not, I'll keep pushing. But as your College President, I'd have a proper seat at the table where I can fight for you.

I think you shouldn't just talk about problems, but fix them too. The community pantry is a great example of what's possible when someone is determined to make change, we need more of that energy. If elected, I'll listen, find the problems, and get them sorted. I'd work with the Deputy President and staff to push for events that genuinely reflect everyone, partnering with societies and other colleges to improve the Digby community.
I'm currently Chair of the Disabled and Neurodivergent Network, so I've represented students at Student Senate and NUS Liberation meetings. I'm part of the RSU's Board of Trustees, and I'm a programme rep for 1st year cyber security students. You might've also seen me attending the Global Politics society, or recently involved in the RSU President's bus survey campaign.

These roles have taught me how to make change at Roehampton: how to raise issues effectively, how to work with staff, and how to translate student frustration into concrete asks. That's exactly what a college president needs to do, as well as representing Digby and keeping students informed about what's happening and why.

Before applying to uni I had a job offer from the BBC in science & tech. I decided to turn it down as I wanted a university experience and I'm the first generation in my family to get that. It's why I'm so passionate about improving things for all students, for example running more fun events.
I'm a Londoner through-and-through. I love this city: its connectivity, diversity, and parks. I want to make change in uni and beyond, so you'll find me visiting Parliament in my spare time keeping on top of what changes people want to see in the UK.
