Candidate Statement
I am the strongest candidate for this role because I combine practical experience with a genuine commitment to student wellbeing and academic success. As a student leader, support worker, and former teacher, I understand education from both the student and staff perspective. This allows me to communicate effectively, advocate confidently, and propose realistic solutions. I am compassionate, approachable, and proactive, with a strong focus on inclusion, teaching quality, and academic support. I listen to students, act on feedback, and work collaboratively with departments to ensure every student feels heard, supported, and empowered throughout their university journey.
I bring a strong combination of academic, professional, and leadership experience to the role of President Education. I have worked as a student leader, representing student interests and contributing to discussions that improved learning experiences. I have also served as a support worker, where I helped students facing academic and personal challenges, giving me a deep understanding of the barriers many students face.

In addition, I am a former teacher, which means I understand how education systems work from the staff point of view, including curriculum delivery, assessment, and student engagement. This gives me an edge to effectively communicate and advocate for students' needs with lecturers and academic departments.

Together, these experiences equip me with the empathy, communication skills, and practical insight needed to advocate for fairer, more inclusive, and higher quality education for all students.
One thing people should know about me is that I am genuinely people-centred. Everything I do is driven by a deep commitment to supporting, empowering, and uplifting others. I lead with empathy, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility, always.
