Candidate Statement
Hey you, I'm Hanna! 🌻 Let me tell you why I am running to be your President :)
At the heart of everything I do is one question: who might be left out? Most of us have felt that gut-wrenching feeling, and it's exactly what drives me. I don't want anyone at Whiteland's to feel like this space wasn't made for them. As your President, I will ensure every student feels seen, heard, and welcomed.

I lead with empathy, I listen carefully and take people's experiences seriously before making decisions. I am dedicated, I pursue the things I care about. To me being President is more than a title, its the person who can make real change.

Before university, I worked as a Youth Voice Officer, helping students across the county express themselves politically and run campaigns on issues like mental health and LGBTQ+ rights. I've always wanted to give every voice a platform. As your President, you can expect professionalism and openness to new ideas. I'm here to turn your voices into change.
At Roehampton, I have proactively created positive change across as many areas as I can.
As Bystander Intervention Lead, I've experienced firsthand the unseen risks students face. As your President, I will bring these to the governing body and push for a new standard of student safety.

As Psychology School Rep, I collect student feedback and bring it directly to the school Dean. As your President, I will ensure your views on all aspects of university life are advocated for.

As the 144th May Monarch, I've raised funds for Dose of Nature and built a partnership that provides students with creative workshops and mental health support without long waiting lists.
I've also led workshops from mindful crafts to movie nights.

I am the Welfare Officer for the Archery Club, looking out for our archers and helping to organise inter-uni competitions.

All of this has fueled my passion for helping students, and I'm ready to keep pushing for real change as your President.
I love sunflowers! I learnt that sunflowers turn to face the sun, but (as the myth goes) when they can't, they face each other. For me, it's a reminder to always look at the positive, and when I can't, I can look to the friends I trust most. 🌻
