New Vision New Direction.

My name is Heena Fathima. I am studying BSc.Adult Nursing at University of Roehampton. I am nominating myself for the Digby Stuart college president role [Part time]. I was a student supportive leader in my school, where I learned leadership qualities. I did many elements of being a leader such as arranging events, creating themes and academic techniques.

My vision is to become a backbone for students and stand for them in achieving all the aspects which they want to. I want to support the university as well by making equal efforts of elements, where it could be a benefit and innovative for both. I am going to escalate my values to build up the moral functions for students and university as a team, in making a better decision. I am going to be creative, critically thinking, and supportive. Few important concerns which I believe important are:

Student housing: Many students are struggling to get accommodation on campus, I want to personally look after this and make a way out, where every student is able to be accommodated within the university. The cost of living is getting high which is the main reason for students stepping back.

Many opportunities to be unlocked: I think about more on campus job opportunities to be unlocked at university, which helps students get employable for the cost of living. Also, makes students participate enthusiastically for new innovative job roles. I also want to get a step ahead in placements and graduate outcome employabilities. Which really helps the continuing and new starting students to follow or take up an advice. I also want to motivate the students in participating in university events and meets, which comes with enjoyment as well as knowledge.

Academic progression: I really want to help this main thing for students, whenever they are not sure about their work or have any kind of concerns about their individual course. I want to make a better and comfortable environment for them. I would also make many possible ways to communicate for academic concerns to be solved.

I have and am working as a volunteer for an event called walking bus with the university team and now this is the time I could expand my leadership skills and support students. So, I nominate myself for this college president role and strongly believe that I can also excel in this role and mainly lend a helping hand to all the students out there and the university. Therefore, I plan to ensure all these elements to be inclusive and represented in all student groups by good communication through links.

Overall, I would like to manifest all these above responsibilities to be completed by me.  As now it is the right time to make things go in the right way and understand them.

The voting polls will take place between 10AM Monday 11th March and 10AM Friday 15th March. You can vote online at roehamptonstudent.com/elections.  All votes will be counted and verified at the close of voting and the winners announced from 5PM on Friday 15th March.
