Keeping up the good work of the Froebel team

As Deputy President of Froebel, I will represent students from Froebel, listen to their problems and work with the hardworking Froebel staff to sort it out. On the other end of the spectrum, I will also listen for what we are doing right, so that we can bring you more of what works. With the position I have 3 main actions I plan on making happen with the Froebel team:

Student Safety- As some of you may know, in this academic year, there have been some incidents involving people outside of the university, that may have made students feel unsafe. This is not something I want for peoples university experience, as everyone should be able to feel safe where they live and work while away from home. To do this, I would like to work with the staff and security, to have an increased security presence on the road between Froebel gate and Chadwick and along Froebel drive on nights where students are more likely to be walking to and from there such as Karaoke and Bop nights. As well as making sure the bystander team are still keeping up the good work, keeping an eye on students.

More Events- As inspired by the charity Waxing event held by current Froebel president Harrison. I would like to run more of these, as the turnout as great, the night was fun and he broke the record for most money raised on campus in one night for charity. I see the potential of the union bar as a venue for more of these type of events, such as game nights, potentially some form of game show hosted there in a similar vein as the Union's Sunday night pub quiz.

Work for the community- After seeing students donating to charity on the waxing night and volunteering recently for the collections in aid of Ukraine. I see the willingness of the Froebel community to help the wider community outside of their own given the opportunity. I would like to give the students more opportunities to help others, with food collections of canned goods students no longer want in order use my platform for good. I would also like to take an environmental approach too, by keeping the campus clean with litter picking walks, to make sure our lovely campus stays so lovely.

I think I am an appropriate candidate as I have been an active member of the Froebel community for and the wider Roehampton community for 2 years. Have a working relationship with the Simon Dorman and Jonathan Miller, the Head of Froebel and the Froebel College Life Development Officer as a flat rep in the current academic year. As well as previous events management experience, meaning that I have the skillset to do what I say I will.

I hope I have gained your trust and your vote with my manifesto and I hope you wll have faith that I will deliver on what I say.
