Hi,
My name is Mona-Lisa and I am running for the Environmental and Sustainability Officer role.
As a current member of the Business Society Team, I try to involve myself as much as I can within the university environment to connect students with each other by creating social events. As a business student, I have realised how important is environment and sustainability are for long-term businesses as well as healthier communities.
I have decided to nominate myself to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development and environmental impacts. From my previous work experiences, I had the opportunity to generate new ideas and implement them which I would like to do at Roehampton; find new ways to improve the community and create events for students to contribute to environmental initiatives and projects.
If elected I will campaign on the following things:
- Raise awareness around sustainable development and environmental impacts by creating presentations, debates and connecting students with each other to discuss green topics. Inviting professionals working in the sustainable development area of business to share tips and personal experiences with students. I would also give the opportunity to attend forums and off-campus events.
-Work with Growhampton and organise activities in which students can get involved with the Roehampton community and perhaps, plant more flowers around the campus.
-Develop the university policy by considering each of the student’s opinions and ideas on what can be improved around the campus and University life through surveys. My goal is to involve everyone as much as I can and create discussions/meetings with students.
