Never Settle For Less.

I’m passionate, driven, determined, proactive and approachable, these are all the types of traits you would expect a candidate to say when running in an election? Although this does not tell you why I am running for the role of President.

I am running for President this year as I want to continue representing the students and make sure that the student voice is heard and the overall student experience continues to improve year on year.

Also I am not to just after the title of being Students’ Union President, but I wish to continue and complete the initiatives that I have started this year.

Initiatives which I am looking to complete from this year are:

  • Continue working on establishing new media platforms (such as video diaries, podcast etc) in which students can voice their opinion and experiences.

  • Carry on the developments with our societies in our new society tiering system, as well support our new and existing societies expand and increase their membership and engagement.

  • Improve the understanding and relationship with academic staff to make them aware of the specific support we can offer here at the Students’ Union.

  • Increase interactions between our home and international students to promote a better campus culture.

  • As I feel improved relationships will not only improve the social experience at university but will have a positive impact on the academic and learning experiences.

  • Campus Transport and Parking- these have been two long standing problems for not just students but staff as well.

  • External Funding for our Clubs, Societies and Teams – explore funding and sponsorship opportunities which do not conflict with the Students’ Union.

  • Improve communications between the University and Students.

  • Increase the amount of activities happening at both Campuses.

  • Promote Campus Community

  • Cross campus interaction. Should I be elected I will try to improve events/communication with students between both campuses. In regards of academics, I want to try and make inter-library loans possible across campuses. Books that are at either campus could be ordered and transported on a daily basis.
  •  We pay the same fees, so we deserve the same experience. University Of Roehampton has a hugely diverse population and every student should feel they belong. Equal access to the same facilities and support across each school will also ease the demand of our workloads and become more balanced with our other commitments. I will also continue to support sport and societies on UOR campus and ensure starting a society is both smooth and fun!

I look forward to answering any questions that any of you may.

A Vote For Me Is A Vote For You!

Best regards
