Isabella Davis

Hello! My name is Isabella Davis (or Bella for short), and I am running to be your next Whitelands College Vice President for the 2021-2022 academic year. My initial interest in this position comes from my studies in Anthropology, located in the college since my first year. It is also a place I have called home for the last three years of my university life, living in Cheltenham and Beverly block for two years and a continued third year. Whiteland’s has always held a special place in my heart, with the vast history and beautiful architecture, the passion I have is something I will bring when taking on the role of if elected.

During my university experience, I have been involved in various activities and events. For my second year, I was a part of the netball team committee, where I was elected to be social sectary, meaning that organisation was a critical part of my responsibility when taking up the role. For my third year I was again re-elected to be the club social secretary, indicating that my skills were acknowledged and my success in performing the requirements of the role were appreciated. When I take up a role, I am fully committed to achieving any responsibilities given to me with success, this added with my previous experience means I will make a great Vice President.

If elected, I would be serving with the current Whitelands College President. Together we could really make Whitelands a better place to live and study, with the already implemented sustainability and biodiversity plans from the current President,  I would like to help and promote the importance of this around campus, giving an excellent way for the community to get together and do something meaningful for our future as a college. I also live and study with the current President Jai, we already have a great working relationship, and it is my belief that this partnership will allow Whitelands to thrive.

If elected, one of my main aims would be to promote Whitelands in a social media direction by setting up an Instagram for myself and the President where we will post events and activities happening around the year and give updates of campus news and information. This will be a good support system for students to quickly contact either me or the President with any questions or concerns that they may have, big or small. Giving students more accessible support is one of my main aims if elected. Mental well-being is a crucial part of every student’s university life, and I want to give opportunities to someone in the same position with drop-in sessions for anyone who needs support.
