U R Amazing Awards Criteria

The U R Amazing Awards are your opportunity to reward and recognise the work done by staff at the University of Roehampton and RSU. If you know of any staff members that you would like to see rewarded for doing a great job, all you have to do is fill out the nomination form.

There are two categories for the U R Amazing Awards:

1. Academic staff

This could be your Academic Guidance Tutor, a lecturer, or another academic member of staff who has gone above and beyond in supporting you throughout your studies this year.

 

2. Non-academic / professional services staff

This award celebrates the non-academic staff who make your university experience outside of the classroom great! It can go to someone who has demonstrated exceptional assistance and positivity: staff that work in the library, colleges, student welfare, RSU, or in any other university departments.

Some other reasons you might want to nominate a staff member for either category could be:

  • Incorporates technology and sustainable working practices into their teaching and learning approach.
  • Demonstrates commitment to strengthening learning resources by diversifying content.
  • Empowers women and those of underrepresented groups to challenge contemporary academic thinking.
  • Seeks to provide a highly inclusive, green space in which students can learn with minimum environmental impact.
  • Proactively seeks the students’ voice and places their input in decision-making.
  • Are approachable, welcoming and keen to take students’ views seriously and champion them.
  • Provides safe and inclusive spaces for students to air concerns, ideas or suggestions.
  • Goes above and beyond to ensure that students are kept informed about how their voices are being heard.
  • Motivates and challenges, providing a stimulating teaching and learning environment.
  • Is an expert in their field and through teaching, enables students to thrive in the subject.
  • Is a role model and encourages students to set high aspirations.
  • Communicates consistently, is well organised, and is accessible to students.
