SIGNING IN GUESTS @ RSU EVENTS

We realise that friends come to visit on a regular basis and you may want to bring them to an RSU event you are attending, which is why we offer the signing in facility. 

We allow each Roehampton student the opportunity to bring one guest each to the majority of RSU events held throughout the year. Some events are excluded from this rule and this will be for a specific reason, normally due to the high demand from Roehampton student alone. For example Freshers Week is strictly current Roehampton students only and no guests allowed.

The strict process for signing in a guest to an event is as follows:

• You must go in person to the RSU Reception before 4.30pm on the day of the event to sign your guest in. The list will shut at 4.30pm, so if your name isn't down by then, you will not be accepted.
• You will need to provide a valid Roehampton ID card in order for the Receptionist to add your name to the list and you must also give a valid contact number.
• You must then give the name of the guest intending to come to the event. This name can not be changed once the list is closed at 4.30pm. If for some reason the name of your guest does change, you can again come up in person to change this on the list before 4.30pm on the day of the event. THIS NAME CAN NOT BE CHANGED AT THE DOOR OF THE EVENT. 
• You must arrive at the event with the guest you have signed in.
• When you arrive at the event the list will be with the door staff or security staff who will need to see a valid Roehampton ID card from the student and a valid piece of photo ID from the guest being signed in. These must match what is on the list.
• You will then have to both pay the respective entry fee, before being allowed to enter the event.
• Once at the event, your guest is ultimately your responsibility and any breeches of the RSU Events Policy, will see you receive sanctions as if you had committed the offence yourself. Therefore the guest must agree to the event code of conduct.

The guestlist is limited in numbers to ensure priority is given to Roehampton students, therefore it regularly fills up to capacity before the event. If you think you may have a guest coming to the event, it is better to put them on the list early, than risk the list being full up and missing out on coming to the event. You can always remove or change the name on the list in advance, but if it is full you can't add a name! Once the list is full, ITS FULL!! The receptionist cannot add anymore people to the list, so please do not hassle her/him, as this is due to capacity and insurance laws.

Guestlists for each event open 1 week before the event, but there maybe excpetions to this for bigger or one off events.
