Plagiarism is cheating. It’s laying claim to thoughts, ideas, facts that aren’t your own. All programmers should include detailed advice on how to avoid plagiarism and to develop appropriate study skills. Plagiarism is a serious case of academic misconduct so you should always make sure you reference your work correctly and acknowledge any material that you use from the web, on-line journals and other database or media sources. If you are unsure you can always refer to the How to… a study skills guide for students on the main Roehampton website, or speak to your personal tutor and they will be able to help. Or if you have been found that you have been accused of plagiarism come and speak to us for help and advice.
